Alta is a principals-led executive advisory firm for UHNW founders, C-suite executives, and PE-backed companies who are building at speed and need structure that holds.
Alta was built on a single observation: the gap between strategic advice and operational reality is where most high-growth companies lose. Not because the strategy was wrong.
Because it was never installed.
We are a principals-led, invitation-only advisory firm. Every engagement is led by Hilary Porta and Liliane Joris, directly, personally, without delegation. We work with a small number of clients at any time, and we work deeply.
Our methodology is diagnostic first, architectural always. We do not prescribe before we understand. We do not present before we have built something real.
Advisory firms hand you a framework and leave. Alta installs the operating architecture into your organization and stays until it holds under pressure.
You work with Hilary and Liliane. Not their team, not a methodology-trained associate. The founders are your advisors. This is not scalable by design.
Alta's architecture is designed to survive the sale, the succession, or the next chapter. We build with deliberate exit-readiness baked into the structure from day one.
Most firms separate brand from operations. We don't. The way a company presents itself and the way it runs are the same problem. We solve both simultaneously.
Every Alta engagement follows a disciplined sequence. No phase is skipped.
No prescription before diagnosis.
No installation before design.
From the diagnostic emerges the architecture. We design the operating model, the organizational structure, the positioning framework, and the strategic roadmap — built for your specific terrain, not a template.
This is where Alta earns its differentiation. We do not hand over a document. We work inside the organization — alongside your leadership — to install the architecture in the actual operating environment.
Installation is not completion. Stabilization is the work of ensuring the architecture holds without us — that it is internalized, stress-tested, and capable of scaling beyond the engagement.
We enter with no assumptions. A rigorous diagnostic maps the current state — operational, cultural, positional — across every load-bearing dimension. We find what is holding and what is not.
Alta works with a deliberately small number of clients. Selection is mutual. We take engagements where the architecture we install will matter — and where the leader is ready to build.
CEOs, Presidents, and senior leaders at an inflection point — a new role, a mandate to transform, or an organization that has outgrown its current architecture and needs a rebuild.
Leaders between chapters — post-exit, post-merger, or stepping into something new — who need the identity and operational infrastructure to match where they are going.
Organizations scaling faster than their infrastructure — where the founding team's instincts have carried them to a ceiling that only architecture can break through.
Founders who have built significant wealth and are navigating succession, exit, or the construction of a next-generation operating model that reflects how far they've come.
Portfolio companies pre- or post-acquisition that need operating architecture installed at speed — before the board meeting, before the 100-day plan closes, before the next raise.
Companies 12–36 months from a sale or transition who need the business to run and present as if the founder is already gone — because the buyer is watching.
Alta has no associates. No methodology-delivery layer. Every client engagement is led, managed, and delivered by the founders.
Hilary is an executive advisor, structural architect, and identity practitioner who works at the intersection of organizational design, high-performance behavioral leadership, and the internal architecture of the leaders who build. She co-founded Alta with Liliane Joris to formalize the work she has been doing privately for nearly two decades — with founders, Fortune 500 CEOs, royal families, professional athletes, motorsports principals, Hollywood producers, and elite military and special forces.
Her practice integrates the structural rigor of Six Sigma Black Belt and Malcolm Baldrige Excellence Framework training with depth psychology and identity architecture at the executive level. She operates under a proprietary framework she developed and refined through hundreds of engagements — Identity Architecture™ — which treats the way a leader thinks, positions, and operates as a single integrated system rather than three separate problems.
Clients and corporate colleagues have known her for decades as the Velvet Hammer — the one who names what others will not say, with the precision to land and the warmth to be received. She is direct, deeply relational, and structurally uncompromising.
Hilary is a contributing writer to Forbes, Harvard Business Review, and 33 other publications worldwide, and has shared international stages with Dr. Deepak Chopra and hundreds of global leaders.
Liliane is an executive advisor and structural architect who works at the intersection of organizational architecture, governance design, and the human behavior of leadership at the highest levels of global business. She co-founded Alta with Hilary Porta to formalize the work she has been doing privately for more than two decades — with organizations including Amgen, Royal Canin, Burckhardt Compression, Air Products, Corning, Deutsche Bank, Mars, Sulzer, Schott, McDonald's, and Nike Belgium across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the United States.
Her foundation is uncommon. Before becoming an executive advisor, she served as Financial Controller at Joroca — a joint venture of Johnson Controls and Roth Frères — Treasurer and Consolidating Manager at De Ster, Corporate Account Manager at General Bank where she grew her portfolio 300%, and Vice President of Corporate International Training and Development at Sulzer AG. She built and led X-Kwizit, an international management consulting firm serving executive teams across Europe.
Clients came to call her the Strategic Mirror™ — the one who names what the room cannot say, asks the question that shifts everything, and restores leaders to themselves with precision and without judgment. Fluent in four languages, she moves through cultures with the same precision she brings to organizational systems — entering the patterns of multiple business cultures rather than translating across them.
Alta does not take every engagement offered. We take the ones where we can install something that holds. If you believe that describes your situation, we'd like to hear from you.
